The cleanest lakes in Poland – full list

It is not easy to say which are the cleanest lakes in Poland. Many of them are very clean and the overall water status has improved significantly over the last 30 years. Currently, the Quality Research is conducted by the Chief Inspectorate for Environmental Protection (CIEP). The last cumulative study took place in 2018. Regardless of it, bathing sites are examined by epidemiological threat by Poviat Sanitary and Epidemiological Stations. However, the results of research are not important to tourists, but the impression of cleanliness.

I present a list – the cleanest lakes in Poland – top 100. The list is a study made by the Jeziorapolski.pl portal based on data from the Main Inspectorate for Environmental Protection in 2018. CIEP did not examine all lakes, because this is not possible. They are investigated in which there are bathing areas or are made available to tourists in another way. There are also no mountain lakes or national parks here. CIEP tests many parameters and assesses them on a five-point scale, where 1 is the best result and 5 is the worst. Biological, hydro-morphological elements, physical condition, aerobic conditions, salinity, acidification and particularly harmful substances are tested. We chose lakes based on two parameters: water transparency (only classes 1 and 2) and phytoplankton (only classes 1 and 2). To be on the list, both parameters had to be in class 1 or 2 at the same time. In some cases there were several bathing areas by the lake and tests were carried out in several places. We chose a better result and present the cleanest lakes in Poland.
