Location and morphology
Lake Isąg, located in the Łukta commune, in the Olsztyn Lake District, is one of the most charming water bodies in the region. Its shoreline is well-developed, and the shores are mostly high, especially the southern ones, which are forested. The Pasłęka River flows through the lake, flowing into it from the south.
Lake Isąg is a reservoir with a moderately developed shoreline, with several islands. The largest of them, with an area of 3.5 ha, is high, with steep banks and trees. It lies at the southern end of the lake, near the mouth of the Pasłęka. The bottom of the lake is diversified, with numerous deep spots and covered with submerged vegetation. The average depth of Lake Isąg is 14.2 m, and the maximum depth is 54.5 m, which makes it one of the deepest lakes in Warmia and Mazury.
